Something Familiar…Something Peculiar…Something for everyone a COMEDY last night!!!!
That is right, last night at Jimmy’s Saloon the 2011 RI Comic Throwdown held it’s finals to a standing only crowd. The Seven week, three venue and almost 60 comics journey ended with 8 comics competing for the cash prizes and the Title of 2011 RI Comic Throwdown Winner and the opportunity to host next years throwdown. The field was made up four divisions that included: Professional Division – Michael Murray & Pat Oates, Amateur Division – Doug Key & Kelly Morse, Novice Division – Bob Caron & Darrin Smith and Runner-Up Division – Dave Pizzelli & Ray Harrington.
The first round was to determine who the division winners. Each comics had a ten minute set to win their division. The winners of the divisions were:
Professional Division
Michael Murray
Amateur Division
Kelly Morse
Novice Division
Darrin Smith
Runner-Up Division
Ray Harrington
Then with a short break the comics all did a drawing from a hat to determine their order in the throwdown.
The order for the Throwdown was:
